Chauvanist - Round One - Clear - Jump Off - 8 faults - PLACING - 7th PLACE
A very solid start to the International classes for Dan. Chauvanist showed he retains his form very well and after a flawless first round, although he had a couple down in a very big jump off he showed he is ready to have a big show. "He jumped very well" said Dan "I'm pleased with that start, he felt very good which is really encouraging as he has a busy week for a young horse" added Dan
SKY SPORTS TROPHY - THURSDAY
Flaming Star - 2 Phase - Double Clear 2nd phase in 26.10secs - PLACING - 3rd PLACE
Dan's new ride certainly showed how much potential he has with an excellent double clear in the big Sky Sports Trophy finishing an very good third place just behind Ellen Whitaker - CS Online and Niels BRUYNSEELS - CIPPOLINI VD GASTHOEVE. This talented 11yr old Stallion showed plenty of scope and didn't look like have a pole. When asked Dan was suitably impressed with his new charge. "That was very good, we didn't hang about and even though I'm just getting to know him, I asked him a lot of questions today and he answered them all. I'm really look forward to forming a partnership with this nice stallion"
THE JUMP 4 JOY TROPHY - THURSDAY
Milena 8 - Round One - 12 faults
Although our in the first round, Milena 8 jumped very well apart from aminor disagreement at some very unusual mini trays - over two thirds of the field had issues these two new trays!!
DICK TURPIN STAKES - FRIDAY
Flaming Star - Round one - 4 faults
Another excellent round from the stallion and was desparately unlucky to have a pole coming our of the combination for 4 faults. "He jumped nicely" said Dan "He was unlucky to have that pole but I was very happy with him" added Dan
YOUNG RIDERS CHAMPIONSHIP OF GREAT BRITAIN
Chauvanist - Round One - Clear - Jump Off - Clear 36.86sec - WINNER
DAN WINNER OF GREAT BRITIAN YOUNG RIDERS CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
Dan showed his class in the Young Riders Championship with an impressive win on Chauvanist to underline his number one Young Rider ranking. Over a big and technical 1.45m track Dan was in great form and after a very fluent first round, Dan was at his best in the jump off completing the course in 36.86sec to be the only double clear of the class. Chauvanist continues to show improvement and take these bigger classes in his stride. "That was great" said a clearly delighted Dan "Having just gone to the top of the rankings it was nice to win the championship at HOYS, it means alot to win here infront of this great crowd, I'm really pleased" added Dan
HOYS.CO.UK CUP - FRIDAY
Chauvanist - Clear 49.25sec - 5th PLACE
Chauvanist's busy day continued on Friday evening and he again produced a top class performance, jumping clear to finish in an excellent 5th place. Having won the Young Riders in the afternoon, Chauvanist again produced a very fleunt performance to put Dan in the ribbons for the 4th time at this years HOYS. "The horse has had a great day, he felt really strong at the end of the Young Riders contest so we knew he had petrol left in the tank for tonight."
ZINC EVENT MANAGEMENT TROPHY - FRIDAY
Milena 8 - Round one - Clear 66.98 - Jump off - 4 faults - 35.53 secs - 6th PLACE
Milena 8 got his show going with a very solid performance to finish in the money in 6th place in the big class on Friday evening. After an impressive clear in the first round, Dan really had his foot on the peddle in the jump off, but Milena just got caught out on a very trickly turnback to a 1.55m upright that every horse in the jump off bar one had down. However this was a very encouaging performance for the very big classes later in the weekend. "She was really good tonight, she was in the air and that turnback that caught us out was a really trickly fence, but you have to turn inside to those fences if you want to compete at this level and we nearly made it." said Dan.
THE DENNIS FISHER MEMORIAL CUP - SATURDAY
Chauvanist - Round one - 4 faults
Chauvnaist was again in good form in the Saturday afternoon class, finishing with just one pole over a big course set by Bob Ellis. The young horse has had a great show and just keeps improving.
THE ACCUMULATOR - SATURDAY
Flaming Star - 18pts
Things didn't quite go Flaming Star's way in the accumulator, but the stallion showed he has a great future and Dan is very hopeful of developing a good partnership with this talented horse.
VINOPOLIS SPEED HORSE OF THE YEAR - SUNDAY
Chauvanist - Round One - Clear - 56.67sec - CLASS WINNER
DAN WINNER OF SPEED HORSE OF THE YEAR

Dan and Chauvanist completed a fantastic week for this young horse by winner the Speed Horse of the Year class on the final afternoon of the championships. Chauvanist has been in tremendous form recently and to win an International class, with the likes of Ellen Whitaker, Robert Whitaker and other renowned fast riders behind this really is a top class performance by horse and rider. "That tops a great week for the horse" said Dan "After we had a couple of poles in the national classes early in the week, he has been foot perfect. He feels very strong and fit and he has jumped more than any of my horses this week, and two win two big classes is just great. He keep improving year after year, he's very honest and has a big heart, great start to the final day"
